Fayette County Warrant RecordsFayette County Warrant Records

Pick up the phone and call the city court printed on your citation. In Fayette County, municipal courts handle city ordinance and traffic cases, while a justice of the peace precinct handles separate county matters. La Grange, Schulenburg, and Flatonia publish direct court contacts, though smaller towns leave some gaps on their public pages. The sheriff can field county custody questions, but each city court controls its own cases. Keep your citation or case number at hand, and ask the clerk exactly what the court can confirm about an active warrant and what step comes next.

Fayette County Municipal Court Warrants

A municipal warrant grows out of a city court case, whether that is an ordinance violation, a traffic matter, or a failure to appear. Do not expect it to show up on the sheriff's pages, and Fayette County publishes no combined warrant list covering every municipal court. Start with the city court itself. That office holds the record and can tell you the next step. Texas law gives municipal courts authority over city matters and certain Class C cases, so the court named on your citation keeps the file. City police may serve or route process. Still, a police contact alone cannot confirm that the court has recalled a warrant.

Fayette County Municipal Warrant Courts

The Texas court directory lists municipal courts for La Grange, Schulenburg, Flatonia, and Round Top. Carmine and Fayetteville do not appear in those directory rows. That gap does not prove no court exists; a citation bearing either name deserves a call to city hall to learn which office holds the case in Fayette County.

These are city courts, separate from the four JP precincts serving Fayette County. A county citation and a city citation can follow different payment and recall routes.

Fayette County Municipal Warrant Records

A municipal court sitting inside Fayette County does not join the sheriff's case index just because it shares the county. Each city runs its own records. La Grange uses a dedicated court email and service page, Schulenburg publishes a police page and a municipal court page of their own, and Flatonia's municipal clerk works from City Hall while its police page routes nonemergency dispatch through the county sheriff. Fayette County also has four JP courts for precinct cases, and those are not the city courts. Read the court name on your citation before using a JP payment sheet or asking the sheriff about custody.

Ask the clerk three things. Does a warrant exist? Must you appear in person? What written proof shows it was recalled? If a name alone turns up nothing, give the citation number.

Fayette County Municipal Warrant Amnesty

La Grange ran an official amnesty program from November 3 to December 1, 2025. It waived warrant fees and cut fines by 75 percent for payment in full, or 50 percent under a payment plan, though costs and collection charges stayed in place. The program has ended, so treat it as history rather than a current offer. The request form asked for a name, a guilty or no-contest plea, a pay-in-full or payment-plan choice, and the listed cases. Pay-in-full or half the plan balance was due within 24 hours, and the rest within 90 days. The form offered safe harbor only while a person voluntarily made arrangements, and the city kept the warrant and DPS hold in place until it received the full amount. For the current contact route in Fayette County, use the La Grange municipal service page and ask the clerk whether any new program exists.

Fayette County Municipal Warrant Record Fields

No Fayette County city court posts a public warrant sample or local number format. Ask the municipal clerk to confirm the case and its status. Do not assume a county field list matches the city court's display.

Fayette County sources do not establish one city status-code list or bond schedule.

Fayette County Schulenburg Warrants Follow Missed Dates

Schulenburg's municipal court spells out what happens when a case sits past the appearance date: a Violate Promise to Appear charge, added fines or costs, an arrest warrant, and possible denial of license renewal. The page also warns that driver-safety documents not returned by 90 days can bring an arrest warrant and a license hold. The city publishes plea and payment options, and it urges anyone who cannot pay in full to talk with the court about alternatives. A separate payment page lists weekday hours and a mobile payment route. Confirm current methods with the clerk before mailing money or trusting an old screen. The official Schulenburg court page lays out the missed-date and deferred-disposition paths for Fayette County drivers.

Fayette County Municipal Warrant Resolution

Call the city clerk and get the exact balance, court date, plea options, and any warrant-recall step. Paying in full may not be the only route. A judge may need to sign an order, set a reset date, or weigh a hardship request. For a capias pro fine, Texas law offers a voluntary appearance and good-faith resolution path under Chapter 45A, which a Fayette County court can explain.

  1. Confirm which city court issued the process.
  2. Ask whether you need to pay, file a plea, appear, or request a hearing.
  3. Ask what order or receipt will show recall.
  4. Keep proof and confirm any DPS update with the court.

Do not assume a sheriff record or payment screen changes the city court file.

Fayette County Flatonia Warrant Court Route

Flatonia runs its warrants through the Municipal Court at City Hall, 125 E. South Main Street. Call the court, or the judge directly. Municipal Court Clerk Herminia Dale handles scheduling, and fines and court fees are paid at City Hall. The court's page covers city-ordinance cases and municipal jurisdiction under Texas Government Code Section 29.003. Police work sits elsewhere. Flatonia Police sits at 205 E. South Main and operates 24 hours a day. Nonemergency calls go through the Fayette County Sheriff's Office at (979) 968-5856, which dispatches an officer. That dispatch line does not mean the sheriff indexes city-court warrants for Fayette County. For records, the Flatonia Police page offers the city's public-information request route.

Fayette County Small-City Warrant Routing

Fayetteville posts no warrant page of its own, either for its police or a municipal court. What Fayette County does publish is a justice court listing: JP2 sits in Fayetteville at P.O. Box 458, reachable at (979) 378-2573. Carmine's city office sits at 260 Luther Lane, open on weekdays, phone (979) 278-3273. That office posts no police or municipal-court warrant page either. So pick up the phone. Ask which court actually holds the citation before you route anything to a JP or the sheriff. A missing web page is not proof that no court exists. It just means the answer lives with a clerk, not a website. Don't guess at a city portal, and don't assume the sheriff holds every local record; the citation itself, plus one call to the city office, will name the right place to ask.

Fayette County Warrant Records Access Rules

Fayette County's Open Records handout draws one line worth knowing: judicial records are not requested under the Texas Public Information Act. A city-court file therefore goes to the municipal clerk or judge, under the access rules that court follows. Police records work differently. Ask the city or sheriff department that has custody. Put the request in writing and describe the warrant record clearly enough for staff to locate; Fayette County publishes no shared municipal-court form for this.

Access note: Texas Government Code Chapter 552 covers many agency records and exceptions. Juvenile arrest-warrant information is confidential under Family Code Section 58.010, except for authorized access.

Need the wider picture? The Fayette County warrant records overview covers the sheriff, the clerks, the JPs, and the county access handout. Chapter 45A governs justice and municipal court process, including capias-pro-fine recall.
