Fayette County Warrant RecordsFayette County Warrant Records

Official Fayette County warrant questions belong with the issuing court. The Sheriff’s Office can route county-custody questions, while the District Clerk or the court named on a citation can confirm its own case file. Keep the notice nearby. Note the case or citation number, court name, and date before calling. For an open-records request, contact the public department that holds the document; judicial records use separate court-access rules. No single county office answers every warrant question, and a sheriff contact does not confirm a court’s current status.

Need Official Warrant Information?

This is an independent reference, not a Fayette County service counter. It does not accept payments, schedule hearings, receive surrender requests, or retrieve a person’s case record. A question about whether process remains active belongs with the court listed on the citation or case paperwork. A question about jail custody or sheriff-held documents may be routed through the Sheriff’s Office.

If you are unsure which office has the file, use the court name and precinct printed on the notice. District criminal matters generally route to the 155th Judicial District Court and District Clerk; County Court matters use the County Clerk; traffic and Class C cases may be in one of four JP precincts or a city court. The county publishes no single public warrant roster or universal status form.

The clerk offices keep different case records. For a JP or municipal case, call the precinct or city court printed on the ticket rather than expecting the district clerk to locate it. The four JP numbers listed by the county are Precinct 1, (979) 968-3648; Precinct 2, (979) 378-2573; Precinct 3, (361) 865-3500; and Precinct 4, (979) 743-4041. Confirm the current route on the county’s Justice of the Peace page.

If the question involves a deadline, possible arrest, bond, or a pending hearing, contact the issuing court or a Texas attorney promptly. This website cannot give legal advice or confirm current status.

For an open-records request, address it to the county department that holds the requested record. Fayette County’s handout distinguishes ordinary Public Information Act requests from judicial records, which follow separate court-access rules. The Sheriff’s Office names its Open Records Custodian on the official contact page. A request sent to the wrong department may not reach the court file.
